Why We Do This
Safe Rides 4 Rugrats was born out of heartbreak—and a refusal to accept “there’s nothing we can do.”
After working in auto glass, our founder Jessika Davis saw firsthand what most people never think about: when a window shatters near a child’s car seat, dangerous glass shards embed in the fabric—tiny, invisible, and impossible to fully remove.
She watched a parent try to reuse a seat that had just been vacuumed, only to hear their child scream from a piece of glass still hidden in the fabric.
The insurance company said no, it is not covered under auto insurance.
The police report didn’t help.
The manufacturer said the only option was to replace the seat or at least the cover as they are not washable.
But for families already struggling, there was no help.
That’s when Jessika decided: If no one else is saying yes, **we will.**
Safe Rides 4 Rugrats now exists to help families replace glass-contaminated car seats, educate parents, and ensure no child has to ride in a seat that might hurt them after a break-in.
Our Mission:
To protect children from injury caused by broken auto glass by replacing unsafe car seats, educating parents, and partnering with communities.
Our Vision:
A future where every child rides safely—no matter their family’s income, insurance, or zip code.
